Peter David, Writer of Stuff

I’m very happy to announce that Peter David has agreed to appear at LI-CON. As any I-CON fan will remember, Peter has attended literally dozens of our conventions (and yet he’s only 30 years old. Amazing.) The man doesn’t seem to loaf very much: he has written some of the most acclaimed comics of the 20’th Century, including long runs on The Incredible Hulk, Supergirl, Aquaman, and creating X-Factor among many others. He also writes for TV and movies, co-creating the Nickelodeon show Space Cases and writing several episodes of Babylon 5. And of course, he’s a best-selling novelist, his most recent publication being Artful, A Novel (or I think so–he writes so much in so many fields it’s hard to keep up.)
And yet, writing is his second career.
We missed Peter at LI-CON 1 and it’s with tremendous pleasure that I anticipate having him at LI-CON 2.

The Three Body Problem: Come discuss it at the ICON Book Club (March 11, 2015)
On March 11, the Book Club will be discussing the latest work by China’s most popular science fiction writer, Liu Cixin. Something most of us Americans probably haven’t read: an alien invasion story in which we Americans … are at most secondary, and it’s up to heroic Chinese people to save the day.
Come join us, and help us pick the next book to talk about.
20 Questions! Who is our next announced guest?
Let’s play 20 questions in the comments. I have the name of our next guest in mind. Ask me any yes/no question in the comments, and let’s see how long it takes you to figure out who it is.
This is easier than most 20 questions games: you already know it’s a human being.
Novelist David Mack will appear at LI-CON 2
I’m pleased to announce that David Mack will be joining us in Ronkonkoma this August. David is the author of over 25 novels, including both media tie-in novels like the Star Trek Vanguard series that he co-created, and original novels like his thriller The Calling. His best-selling works also include comics, non-fiction and TV and movie scripts. We’re looking forward to talking to him in August, and I know you are, too.
Stay tuned for more announcements!
