Anime! We got anime!

As LI-CON gets closer, we’re now ready to start announcing our programming plans. Like it says in the disclaimer at the bottom of this page, everything posted here is subject to change. If you have suggestions or requests for our programming, select Contact Us from the Info menu at the top of this screen.

We’ll start with some anime screenings.

Birdy the Mighty: Decode

Federation investigator Birdy chases the space criminal Geega through space to Earth, where he hides in the entertainment industry under a human disguise. Birdy goes undercover herself, posing as famous model “Arita Shion” that often uses a ‘space girl’ look. A male student, Senkawa, stumbles upon a fight between the two one night in an abandoned building only to be severed in half as he is used as a shield by Geega against Birdy. Birdy heals him from imminent death in some fashion- but Senkawa’s body, and life, are now changed and permanently linked to Birdy.

Hetalia: Axis Powers

Italy, once home of the strongest empire in the world, has changed. This is the story of Italy, now a cowardly pasta-loving fool, and his friends (other personified countries of the world) as they live through strange moments in world history.

We thank Funimation for authorizing the showing of their videos.

Nanotechnologist Dr. Gary Halada

Gary Halada, Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Stony Brook University, will regale us with tales of stress tensor analysis in semirigid tensile bodies … NO, just kidding!

Actually he’ll be talking about nanotechnology and horrible engineering disasters (and other fascinating stuff). Gary is one of the founders of I-CON and I’m looking forward to working with him on this new convention.
